New Pattern! Simply Dressed

First off the winner of the Riley Blake fabric giveaway is . . . drumroll please . . . Quilting Tangent! Please e-mail me with your address so I can send you your prize!

I have another new pattern this fall season, and it's a particular favorite of mine.
Ha! All of my 32 patterns are favorites, but like children, this one has a special place in my heart. You see, I just knew that I could design a shirt that used only one pattern piece. Yes, including the sleeves, only one! After many, many times of making it and going back to the drawing board, Simply Dressed is here.

Riley Blake once again provided the fabrics. This line is Twice as Nice by the Quilted Fish. It's a line that coordinates with an earlier line called Sugar and Spice. (Yes, that line made up my first ever dress pattern, Cherished! Really, you can't beat red and turquoise.)
You can make a top, a skirt, or a dress from this pattern. So many options! I LOVE that you get to choose from 5 different sleeves, whether or not to add pockets, and the amount, if any, of ruffles to add.
Did I mention that it's beginner level? After sewing a few basics (like my Learning to Sew series), a beginner can accomplish this outfit.
It's so versatile. From casual every day to dress up, you can accomplish more than an outfit, you can use this one to create a wardrobe. The back is closed with two buttons or snaps. This give you the unique opportunity to really dress up the back.
Fabric choices are all over the place with this one. Above, the skirt is made from corduroy. Cotton is always a great option, but so is knit. There are detailed instructions for using knits included with the pattern.

One fabric you do not want to use with the top is anything directional. Since it is all cut from one piece, a directional fabric would be upside down on one side!
I had awesome testers once again! Jenny Fish did double duty, testing this and Frolic. She broke up the outfit by making the skirt and top separates. Perfect!
Jovanna Clarke made this sweet version as a dress.
Bec Clarke made the separates shown here, so cute!

Love,
xoxo
