Emilie Gets an Easter Dress

 This swingy dress is SO Easter, isn't it? Emilie loves purple and when I picked up this watercolor ruffle fabric at market last fall, I just knew I needed to do something for Emilie with it.

 Add in a little faux-silk (machine washable!) and some cute buttons, voila there's a dress! The pattern is Marie Madeline's Francie, just like Anna's.

 The dress has the sweetest criss-cross back and I just love the sleeves. I think the sleeves are what sold me on the pattern in the first place.

 Now, this hat is from the book Sewn Hats by Carla Crim. You may remember that I have a pattern in that book as well. I've been wanting to make this hat since I got my copy of the book last fall. Wow, it was so easy. I didn't expect it to take just an hour from start to finish, including the cutting.

 Adding the flowers (also instructions for these in the book) took another hour to an hour and a half! I just love a hat for Easter.
