Best Friends 18" Doll

The inspiration for the Best Friends Doll was my daughter Anna. She was having her tonsils out and had to stay overnight in the hospital. I started thinking about my grandma and how she always had little gifts for us. She especially liked to make dolls. Then I thought about all the cute doll clothes patterns for 18" dolls that are on the market and thought, why not? After all, girls are ready for a sweet doll to love long before they're ready for one that costs what an American Girl does. This cute doll was born!
The pattern contains detailed instructions to make the doll, including several hair options. It also contains a REVERSIBLE dress that will fit an American Girl too. In addition, there are a pair of shorts, instructions for adding tights, socks and shoes, and a quick flower pin tutorial. There is also an embroidery pattern for the face, but if you don't like to embroider it's easily adaptable to fabric pens or paint.
The doll dress matches the Friendship Dress for girls.
Thank you with all my heart to my pattern testers. Angie Hofmann at Maddy Maze Studio.
And thanks as well to Karen Woodhull for testing. I couldn't have done this without you two! Karen had the idea for adding tights.

One exciting thing I forgot to tell you about yesterday. I enjoyed writing the book so much! One of my favorite parts was adding in recipes. So all of this season's patterns contain an exclusive recipe. Yes, 10 new recipes in all! They are all desserts and treats.

I am having a pattern presale until the new patterns are released. Right now you can buy the Best Friends paper pattern for $8 instead of $10 and the e-pattern for $6 instead of $8. If you want to buy something else before the pattern is shipped in a few weeks, I will refund additional shipping. Be sure to order now so I can get adequate supplies in!

Love,
xoxo

  1. Melissa, those dolls are just too cute! The hair makes them! That pony tail totally cracks me up! What little girl wouldn't love one of these dolls to play with and love to death? Nice job!
