Before my surgery, my cousin Marie and I were able to do a little shopping in Denver. We went to an awesome fabric shop called Allyn's. Now Allyn's sure isn't a quilt shop. The fabric started at about $100 per yard! I saw some $155 even. Needless to say, we just browsed. They had the laciest, frilliest, beaded and sequined up fabric you've ever seen. Evidently, they've been featured in Vogue. I wish I would have brought my camera. I did buy some velvet ribbon with a picot edge. It was just $5 per yard and I have a specific purpose in mind for it.
Then Marie had found out about a little store called the Fancy Tiger. It was in a kind of neat downtown area of Denver. Oh my word, if you are a lover of modern fabrics, this was the place for you. Again, where was my camera??? The first thing we saw when we came in was Liberty Lawn fabrics! Then Echino to the heart's content. Lots and lots of Amy Butler, Sandi Henderson, Heather Ross (I've been kicking myself for not buying her Rapunzel fabric), Ty Pennington, Alexander Henry (including the whole Tammis Keefe line), and Tula Pink. and lots and lots of other Japanese fabrics. And if you're a knitter or crocheter, all the designer yarns as well. AND so many trims and purse handles and foldover elastics and webbing (see you've got me going again.)
Anyway, here's our loot:
| Marie bought the Japaneses fabric on the left for her daughter's Easter dress, some japanese robots and farm animals and flowers and a little bit of Echino. |
Used year to date: 64 5/8 yards
Bought this week: 3 yards
Bought year to date: 51 yards

I told him twice
to wash his face.
"Mom, this is as clean as it gets."

I am so bad about forgetting my camera. UGH. I have now figured out that my phone takes pretty good pictures. Now I just need to learn to put them on the computer. You found some fun fabric.
