Happy 5th birthday to the Quilting Gallery! Please join me and over 150 other bloggers having great giveaways to celebrate. Just click the link to see everyone else's giveaways!
If you've never been here before, welcome! I'm Melissa Stramel, the owner and designer of Lilac Lane. I design patterns around the theme of "Make Life Beautiful." Mostly Lilac Lane is about being girly, ruffly and fun. I have children's clothing patterns, aprons, bags and a few quilts too!
I also have a book which was published this summer called A Year of Making Life Beautiful: 45 Projects to Bake, Grow, Craft, and Sew. The book is arranged around months and each month has a quilt pattern, recipe or two, crafts and gardening tips. Plus lots of extras! You can flip through a lot of the book on
Amazon or check out the projects for each month on my website.
If you visit my website, you can see all of my patterns but there is also a page of FREE PATTERNS! Here are a few you can choose from. And with Christmas right around the corner, it's a wonderful time to make something for someone.
Okay this last one is a paper craft, but still free and my kids are loving opening the little envelopes every day. You could do a half version with the 12 days until Christmas. All of these are available on my Free Patterns Page right here.
So. You're probably wondering about the giveaway, huh? How about this: a hard cover copy of my beautiful book and three paper patterns of your choice. All you need to do is leave me a Christmas comment to enter. Please leave an e-mail address so I can contact you if you win! The giveaway is open from now through December 15, so your prize has time to make it to you by Christmas. Oh and if you're from overseas, feel free to enter this giveaway! I love my international friends!

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about Christmas this year because my son who is in the Military is coming home to visit.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Melissa! I make something similar to your Countdown to Christmas. It’s a fabric wall hanging and it starts with a poem: When will Santa be here? You wonder every day. December 1 - 24, Has he packed his sleigh? Untie a piece of candy, only one each day! And when you reach the end, You’ll know Santa’s on his way! My girls loved it when they were young. As for the true meaning of Christmas, our tradition is to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas morning. We make Him a birthday cake too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the generous giveaway. I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and thank you for keeping Christ in your Christmas.

ReplyDeleteMerry christmas from South Carolina. I was thinking that your scraptabulous doll quilt pattern would make a wonderfu l Presetn fo all the little girls and the It's roses headband ould also be a very nice gift for the girls as well. Little girls and tween girls especially. Something they could wear and use long after the Christmas holiday has past. But wouldn;t those headbands look marvelous mad eout of seasonal fabrics.

ReplyDelete♫ Silver bells, silver bells
ReplyDeleteIt's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day♫
I couldn't resist my favorite Christmas song.
Merry Christmas.
