Carla asked me if I could make up a pattern for a chef's hat. Isn't this sweet? It's called the Sweetie Pie Chef's Hat. It's completely reversible, so if you wanted a serious side, you could potentially make one side plain. Of course, I couldn't do that!
Here's me in the hat. Isn't that a funny picture?
And here is Emilie, showing off the reversible side. Also if you cuff the band up in half, it makes a great hat for everyday. Plus it's easy.
I wanted to make up a couple of the projects so you would see my take on them, but quilt market is quickly approaching and the time got away! Maybe by market, I'll have some made and you can come see me in them in my booth.
Of course, this is just one of the 35 projects included in the book. The contributors include: Patty Young, Kaari Meng, Joanna Figueroa, Kathy Mack, Dolin O'Shea, Lisa Carroccio, Alexia Marcelle Abegg, heather Niziolek, Jaime Morrison Curtis and Jacinda Boneau, Karen LePage, Jennifer Hagedorn, Shelly Figueroa, Bonnie Shaffer, Jess Christian, Bari J. Ackerman, Mary Abreu, Jennifer Paganelli, Irene Rodegerdts, Anneliese S., Linda and Scott Hansen, Betz White, Kim Christopherson, Melissa Averinos, Val Pillow and Anne Maxfield, and me!
So who would like to win a copy? Unfortunately, this drawing is only open to the US this time. Leave me a comment telling me something about hats. Do you wear them? What's your favorite? Have you made one before? etc. One winner will be drawn at the conclusion of the book tour. Make sure to visit these other blogs for your chance to win.

I do wear hats, usually baseball caps. The only hats I've made were for Halloween. (I really like the chefs hats you created.)
ReplyDeleteI think hats are fun! I have never made a hat, but I remember making cute little triangle scarfs with ties to match some of my dresses when I was in elementary school!
ReplyDeleteI love your chef's hat design!
The chef's hat is utterly adorable! I love to make hats, but haven't made many lately, aside from tiny fascinator hats on a headband for costumes.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE hats - always have! I make them and wear all different kinds, depending on the season and the weather. I also make them for my grandchildren who wear them. The two and four year olds (the oldest) also love to cook. I'm sure they'd love it if I made them one of your darling chefs' hats! I'd be thrilled if I won a copy of this book!!!
ReplyDeleteI love newsboy hats. I have knit hats before, but I've never sewn one. I would love to learn along with this book. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love my Life is Good hats. I had skin cancer in the past, so a hat is a must! One of my daughters is getting to the age she doesn't want to wear a hat, so this looks like a geat book! If she can pick out the fabric AND make the hat, how can she say no? This book is going on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear hats much, but I'd love to make some for others and if I did wear a hat I know I'd want a chef hat! That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI don't wear them much because I have a larger head than most women (I think) so they always seem tight. I would love to make my own - and make some for my daughter. She looks Adorable in hats!
ReplyDeleteOh!!! I LOVE hats!!!! They add sooooo much to an outfit!!! My kids seem really like them too and we have sooo much fun with them!!!
ReplyDeleteI love berets! the chef hat is cool! Thanks for the review and giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love hats, but I haven't worn any since I was a teenager. I collected hats back then. Maybe I should start wearing them again? :-). Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI don't wear hats often, but I love to make them for my kiddos!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved hats, but have yet to find one that I think I look good in. I love to knit hats for charity, so sewn hats would be great to make, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in this giveaway. Your chef hat is adorable!

I love hats but seldom find one big enough for my fat head. I also love to see them on my grandkids!

I wear a big-brim hat when I'm gardening but not a chef's hat when I'm cooking. I'm looking forward to this book and making a new garden hat to replace my faded one.
ReplyDeleteSo many great hats. I'd love to make one for my grandson who is almost 2 years old and loves hats. I've never sewn one, only knitted and crocheted hats before. I'd loke to give it a go though.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Wiley Publishing for a great giveaway and a chance to win.

I love hats! Berets are my favorite. I have sewn some fleece hats for my little siblings and a sunhat for myself. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have made 3 hats and they were all the same pattern. One for a six yr old girl and one for her American Girl Doll and one for a one yr old girl. They turned out so cute that I've been wanting to find a pattern that I like to make one for myself and one for my 2 yr old son.
ReplyDeleteI do not wear hats, but my daughter wears hats beautifully. All of my grandchildren also wear hats and I am just starting to make them hats! I would LOVE this book!
ReplyDeleteI've never made a hat before, but I do like to wear wide brimmed hats, especially colorful ones.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks awesome! I think hats are so cool! I've never actually made one before, but If I won this book that would definately change!
ReplyDeleteWe wear a lot of sun hats and cycling caps in our family, but I've only ever made a bonnet.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to make a chef's hat for Halloween, and I would love to have this book to tell me how!! My only previous experience with sewn hats is smocked bonnets. j-j-s AT juno DOT com
