I'm busy working on this month's challenge: vintage. That's an easy one for me, but you may be surprised what I come up with. Actually, this one could be the vintage.
Oh, you're probably wondering how I did. I tied for 3rd. Not too bad for the first month, huh? And it turns out there are prizes! Yippee!
I still absolutely love my friend Lisa's quilt. So pretty. She came in second. Go figure.
By the way, I painted this mural right after Emilie was born and Anna was still a baby. Boy did it turn out to look like them. Divine inspiration!
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

I love that quilt, too! And I am so glad it's yours (cause that's the one I voted for! :) ) Good luck this month. Can't wait to see what fabulous vintage quilt you come up with!
Wow, Melissa. That mural is amazing and the quilt is such a wonderful addition to it! Yours is still my favorite from the entries. I didn't vote for myself, either.
I'm excited to get going on Vintage and frustrated that I'm stuck in bed with no sewing machine! I think I might have my dad help me go get my machine and my whole stash of fabrics and notions from the store so I can start sewing tomorrow. I finally feel up to taking a walk for the first time today (I'm actually surprised considering how I felt at 6am) and it's raining. Would've been a wonderful day to sew. Oh well, such is life!
I'm excited to see your Vintage idea, but I have to say that mine might have changed since I read some of the magazines I got for my recup time. How can we pick just one idea?!
I voted for yours...because I loved the colors! I didn't know it was yours.
What a lovely quilt! Great work. And a beautiful mural.Wow!
Be blessed

Beautiful quilt and mural. I also love your friend's amazing work.
Thanks, NeedledMom! haha
Melissa, I was stopping by one more time to let you know... I'm not sure if you saw but Chelsea over at Vintage Chic Boutique is doing the Pink Fig Mia Top for her March Pattern of the Month. You bought that pattern right?
I think you should enter!
*just sayin'* =]
Really lovely. I love the idea of a painting in a quilt. Your friend's quilt is something else.
I really loved your entry - especially how colorful it was! This is so fun figuring out who the artists behind the quilts were - I can't wait to see what you're cooking up this month!
